Material Dez Reed can be one of the cleanest comedians in the business or one of the dirtiest. This must be chosen at time of booking as clean shows are more specialized and therefore cost more.
Rider Hotel Accommodation is always a requirement and is the cost of the purchaser unless otherwise agreed upon by both the purchaser and the selling agent
Evening meal with non-alcoholic beverages before and during the performance is complimentary unless otherwise agreed upon by both the purchaser and the selling agent.
Advertising It is the responsibility of the purchaser to advertise and promote the event. Regardless of attendance the purchaser is responsible for full payment. Dez Reed reserves the right to reduce the length of performance in the case of attendance lower than twenty (20) customers. In such a case the purchaser remains responsible for full payment.
Production Production is extremely important to any performer. Production may be supplied by Dez Reed at a cost of $50.00 per event. If production is supplied by the purchaser, Dez Reed and the selling agent accepts no responsibility for diminished show quality as the result of poor production.
Security Dez Reed and the selling agent understand that a certain amount of crowd noise and/or heckling, though unwelcome, often accompanies stand up performances. However, if the situation becomes untenable as a reult of overtly belligerent attendees, Dez Reed reserves the right to discontinue the show. In such a case the purchaser understands that it is still his/her responsibilty to pay the full amount set forth under the contract. Dez Reed and the selling agent have a responsibilty to other purchasers that preclude Dez Reed from getting into shouting matches and/or physical altercations with abusive patrons.
Fees Fees fluctuate throughout the week and the year. December tends to be the most expensive time to book a comedian as many companies want comedy at their parties thus creating a larger demand for comedians. Saturdays tend to be in higher demand than Mondays. Typically an event will pay Dez Reed between $4000 and $6000 after expenses.
Block booking, where an agent books Dez on multiple events in the same area will often lower that rate considerably. Also bar level events, where there is no censorship can expect to pay half the rate that an event that requires very clean comedy pays. Simple supply and demand capitalism sets these rates.
